The Goal: A Clubhouse for Elkhart County, Indiana
A community
of recovery, hope, and dignity that empowers people with mental illness
through friendship, meaningful work, and cultivation of strengths Our mission:To afford people whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness the opportunity to recover meaningful and productive lives through reintegration into the workplace and the community. "I’ve had great friends, a supportive and loving family, an understanding church, and amazing doctors. I got lucky. Incredibly lucky." I was diagnosed early. My illness was pursued aggressively, and even as I was ready to give up on myself and didn’t believe in or love myself, the people around me picked me up, believed in me, carried me, and loved me. That’s so incredibly rare. I got lucky and had a great community of support, and life has still been an enormous struggle for me. For people with a mental illness, living a life of wellness shouldn’t depend on luck! That’s one of the reasons we need a Clubhouse. A Clubhouse is geared around work and relationships, and the two happening together. The idea that you have something meaningful to contribute, and that you’re valued for who you are, is radical and restorative. At a Clubhouse, what you offer and contribute matters and makes a difference. You matter because you have gifts, and potential, and you deserve every opportunity to pursue dreams. And the Clubhouse wants to support you in that, in any way that we can. That’s not just the message for a few members. That’s the message for every single person who walks through the doors of that Clubhouse. Invite a Clubhouse team to speak to your club or group! Contact us to arrange a date. |
